Most legislation passes without anyone outside the State House reading it. We read the bills, quote them directly, and link to the official text so you never have to take our word for any of it.
Where we think a bill is wrong, we say so and show our work. Where a claim circulating about a bill is inaccurate — including claims from people who agree with us — we say that too.

Urgent — Senate decides by July 31
H.5595 — Late-Term Abortion Standards →
Deletes the four legal standards governing abortion after 24 weeks and repeals the requirement that those procedures happen in a hospital. Passed the House 119–33 on July 22. Both of Yarmouth’s representatives voted yes. Sen. Cyr has not voted.
In Senate Ways and Means
S.2134 — A State Commission for One Religion →
Would write a permanent commission for the adherents of a single faith into the General Laws, with a paid director and a state-held account. Massachusetts removed its own religious test for office in 1821. No Yarmouth legislator has taken a position either way.
